For those who read this, I have a bit of shameless self-promotion today. I recently published a short story I wrote onto Amazon for the Kindle.

I can never get in the habit of using this blog section often enough. Mostly because I can safely assume that those reading it can't exactly bring themselves to care about the day to day dealings of a complete stranger.

That's probably not true. Probably just a reflection on my assumption of how people see me. I suppose it also goes back to the fact...

Today at work I met someone with proper Mad Hatters Disease. I thought it didn't exist anymore, but this guy had it. He said that when e was a kid he had crowns put on his teeth that contained mercury and no one noticed until it was too late. He was interesting but way crazy and scary from time to time.

One of my favorite live bands was in town last night. And after the month and a half I've had I needed that show. No-Fi Soul Rebellion.

Not very many people know about them, especially in the city where I live. But those of us who do become like a tiny community for the two hours we're at the show. It always the same people...

So I know it's been a while. I understand more that no one cares. This is just an update on my previous post.

It's been about a week since getting back from the funeral in Ohio. Drove there...which was a bad idea. Went from Washington, down to Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and finally to Ohio. 37 hours straight in a car. And once there...

Weird week. Weirdest I've had in quite a while.

Here's the breakdown, then I'll give the End Result thus far.

On Monday a Washington State Patrol officer came to my house (and as it turned out another was simultaneously at my work asking for me). My wife opened the door and he did the whole "Is your husband here?" which was met with a sort...

Madness, I wish you the best. This is why we should know about her siblings, if I had someone lost in the mix, I'm pretty sure I would've creeped on them by now on accident :X. (I'm sure you're fine though blush )

I need help, or rather, something explained to me. Why would anyone think to vote for Romney? I've asked a couple people what his appeal is and no one seems to know outside of the fact that, 'Yay, he's a rich white guy who's not Obama' which hardly seems like a qualification.

It's been proven that he's lied about his involvement with Bain Capitol sending...

I've decided I really need to get out of my town for a little bit. An entire week preferably, but a weekend is more in the range of reality. I don't need to go far, Even just going up to Spokane or over to Seattle for a bit would do me wonders.

The reason:

I'm not a huge fan of this city in the first...

I've been watching mounds of stand up comedy lately. It's replaced music when I do the dishes. And I think it's less for the haha funnies than it is how these people view the world around them, and how they comment on it in their own way.

Mostly I've been listening to a long combination of Patton Oswalt, Louis CK, Brian Posehn, Billy Connelly, Eddie...

I wonder how our culture and people will be seen a thousand years from now. Seen by a people far changed from how we live today. Will our laws and way of life be seen as oppressive or liberal? Will they judge us as compassionate, or power hungry monsters? Will we be seen as a simple people, or a people that lived their lives in...

They'll say that at first we were moving toward what looked like an era of great knowledge and art, but then our version of the Colosseum hit (reality tv) and we took a nosedive to oblivion. Combine that with widespread corruption in political and business life, and obscene gas prices due to corporate greed, and we'll have fallen faster than Rome ever did.

And hell yeah, I managed to finish it tonight after all! I have my BA in English Lit, going for my masters in the same, and if all goes well I'll attempt the PhD in the same.

Gatsby! Thanks for your comment on my blog.

I do that too, but from more of a paranoid "everything you depend on will one day fail you" point of view. I encourage people to learn and maintain at least some of the skills that technology promises to take care of for us. Note I said, "everyTHING" you depend on and not "everyONE," So I think that saves me from being a cynic. I believe in people. If I ever stop, please come to Chicago, punch me in the balls and tell me that life is still beautiful. Take care!

I think a thousand years from now all human beings will be telepathic sex wizards.

A whirlwind of circumstance had me up and moving around way too early this morning. Finally was able to get some coffee made and went to go sit on the porch for a while, and it's raining.

I hear the garbage trucks making their rounds. If that's not a sign that the world keeps churning dispute my mood I don't know what is.

*End bad...
