I've been struggling with acne since my early teens. It's been a huge self esteem issue ever since. And, as an adult, the break-outs have gotten worse. I sometimes have break-out events where it spreads and covers my back. It's disgusting and extremely painful.

I've tried pretty much every OTC product out there. I've been to dermatologists. One even prescribed a hard-core antibiotic thinking it might be a skin infection. Well, it worked. Until I was done with the antibiotic. And then the acne came back with a vengeance.

After a decade and a half of just living with it, trying to be as clean as I can with really gentle "normal" soap, I'm going to try something new. A friend has been recommending the products by Paula's Choice. She says it works wonders for her, and that she thinks it'll work for me. I've been skeptical for months, putting it off despite her hounding me about it. I'm not holding my breath. We'll see.

Sorry to see your condition is so severe:/ I didn't develop acne until after highschool (partially grateful since I hated myself enough) but now as an adult I feel like I'm backtracking! Some products work, some don't and some that have worked for acne for myself have also irritated my tattoos so then the choice of tattoo durability or skin issues.. Ugh! Anyway, some products that might be worth looking into would be Alba Botanica, CeraVe, Cetephil.. Hopefully you find something helpful in the near future!

Thank you for your kindness! And thank you for the product recommendations. I seem to be doing OK so far with the Paula's Choice regimen. It SEEMS to be helping, but only time will tell. If this does not help over the next few months, I'll look into your recommendations. Thank you!
