My company moved offices this weekend. Friday I was lugging PCs from one office to the other. It was 104 degrees. I started to get heat stroke and was so dehydrated I stopped sweating. 3/4 of the way through a bottle of gatorade I started sweating again.
Yesterday, the movers moved all our server racks, two mainframes and two massive drive arrays (picture two black Sub Zero refrigerators), so I got to not be in the office.
Instead, I spent the afternoon at a friend's house at his annual "music fest". Four bands, lots of old friends and one really sexy '63 Studebaker Lark. Really was cool to see something that uncommon hot rodded.
Today was the suck. Spent most of the day getting my servers back online. Most everything is up, but most of the offices don't have network connectivity. Thankfully, it isn't my problem.

Hey, as long as you're live man! Who the hell would take the time out to take every cable, screw, and mount (if that's what you mean)? Wow, what a fucking troll!

How big is the mainframe market over in the US though ? We used to have quite a few MFs over here in Norway, but... last 10 years it's been steadily declining, I can assess roughly 6-10 remain powered on in total.
