michael moore's new film: sicko
I just finished watching it. I downloaded it last night. For those of you who haven't seen it and are interested, it is in theaters already.
In most cases, Michael Moore is a "love em or hate em" kind of guy. I really try to stand middle ground when it comes to his films.
I am not going to write a review on the movie and do what people do - boast some extreme left/right wing political opinion. I will say this:
Love him or hate him, the guy is capable of sturring emotion within his audiences. That, I would believe is undisputable. He kind of lost me on his last 9/11 film for the simple extremist point of view that obviously was aimed to create anger at one political side, and sympathy for another --- in other words, political propaganda. It was not to say that I did not agree with some of his points of view but more that I felt like someone was playing me for putty to be molded when I pride myself as individual for thought and emotion. My biggest problem with his film making is that he offers problem awareness and no solutions. He picks apart american way of life and government for a living in a way that almost seems anti-patriotic and encourages questioning our very build as americans.
But all that aside, I would suggest for the headstrong to watch this new release. I can not completely say that a political view is not expressed *but for once* it is not a primary focus in his new film. I suggest the headstrong to watch it for the simple fact that he is Michael Moore and it WILL stur emotion so you WILL be called upon to react after watching it. That should also require filtering the information you have just seen and divide the 'bias' and the 'useful information'. There is a lot of useful information here to be taken and that is why I suggest going to see it.
I am really curious as to people's reactions around me to this film. I suspect it could spawn some very interesting conversation and debate. So, if you have already seen it please respond to this post. If not, go see it and come back to respond. I really want to hear what people think about this.

Metaphorically or literally? Yes to the first and I'd love to try on the latter. I haven't, as yet, had the opportunity.
