it's actually really funny that you are giving me that advice. but we don't know each other...i have been working with a literary agent for about 2 years. i've published about 18 works of poetry and short form prose and a few serialized journals. what i have always wanted to do is write fiction. the problem with that is that you can't really practice or learn or earn it..you write & it either sells or doesnt. success in art is dependent on a business, on the market, supply and demand. but writing is only passion free from reason, self obsession and fantasy. i couldnt write something just because it could sell anymore than i could change my pancreas to be another color if someone offered me money to. i slice veins open and get paid to spill my guts...i can't help what is inside me. that is the only reason that i am doubtful about making it writing. thanks for your advice though. i know more about copyright law than i ever wanted to.
