Life is gettin better. Just remember folks, you gotta try no matter what.
Just remember the lesson Frodo taught us. Just friggen try.
You'll be amazed at what can happen by trying.
I contacted two custom shops last week, One: Killerpaint-he does stuff for Jesse James, and one other so so Trickpaint, Well Carlos at Killer paint thought my work was really really good! Man what a compliment, and the guy (whom I can paint circles around) only told me to "develope my own style, and not rely on what others are doing."
So they both told me to work on making my own style.
It stung a little-but if I can do other peoples style, well then I have great technique, and only need to take it a step further. Ok I can swallow some critiqueing.
(Lets not forget what Picasso said "A good artist barrows, a great artist steals").
BUT the better of the two said:
Your work looks good. Keep working at it. I would have Mike critique your
work, but he is too busy. The most important thing to remember is to develope
your own style. There are tons of amazing people that paint with airbrushes
out there. The difference are the ones that have there own unique style. It
makes a big difference. Everyone is doing what everyone has already done.
As far as help. Where do you live? We are looking for some fulltime
employees, but already have a long list of potential help that we are
interviewing.
Thanks for writing.

And the asshat at Trickpaint said: Its important to develop your own style. Although I learned a lot from Craig and still occasionally e-mail him I use what I learned from him and other artists to strenghten my style which is in a constant state of growth.
Good luck with your painting.
Not even a compliment from him.
So when Craig Fraser says, "You have excellent shading, and Carlos says "Your work looks good".
That is a true compliment. From the cream of the crop themselves.
And some fucker at Trickpaint.com doesnt even give me a compliment, well, well, well. Is somebody jealous. I even told him I would work my ass off for him for $10.00 an hour!!! Fucking peanuts! (Thats ok, you put my work up against his work and you tell me who is good.)
The only difference is that fucken asshat is painting and I'm only dreaming of it.
Unfortunatlly Killerpaint is all the way out at Snohomish.
Loooooooong way to drive.
The only thing I really have to be sad aboot is I cant afford the $300 to go to the weekend seminar with Craig.
Man I can learn a lot from him too. I'm not giving up yet though. Even if I have to cut MORE shit from my budget I'm gonna try. I can make $20 a day doing food taste testing (kinda slick huh, I still eat And get paid). We'll see what happens.
Time to sell the El Camino for $500. Aboot a quarter of what its worth. But if I can go to the seminar I will.
