The musings of two geeks after viewing The Matrix: Revolutions. Enjoy!
how old do you think the Matrix is?
eternal
I don't mean how long will it last but how old do you think it is "presently"
the Matrix can be considered your subconscious mind. if you think of it in actual terms, it's probably about a century old or so, looking at the technology
well that's not that much of an indicator. If they destroyed Zion more than once it could be much older
then how can the technology advance. the Matrix cannot be thought of in the nature of "time"
lets say technology advanced to a certain point during the original war and stopped when the humans lost... so each time they would still be stuck at the same level
I don't believe that there is a timeline
not an established one, unless the whole MAtrix story is fake
well, you do know that it is a story right? because you know you can get pretty deep into this stuff
I'm mean within the confines of the Matrix. Of course I know its just fiction
I believe that there is no timeline and that the Matrix is nothing more than a program loop that repeats over and over. there will always be another "One" just like there will always be another Zion
But the Oracle altered the loop, Zion was not destroyed this time
but the Oracle is part of the OS. it could be flawed. like XP
lol
She's part of the OS but she's not performing her designed function. She's an Exile remember
true, so then she's like a trojan. just like Smith, the Sector 0 virus if I have ever saw one
She may have actually created smith to be the Nemesis for the One. She may have even altered The One program so that he would fall in love and would fight to the end. She WAS designed to study human emotions
so then you know that she's flawed. there is nothing more erratic in this universe than human emotions
well it seems she got tired of the loop. Or maybe she just wanted to piss off the Architect
perhaps. but now, she has some of Smith's code embedded inssde her. That could come back to haunt her
Well if she created the Smith program she may know how to handle him. Unless he's more powerful than she thought
Of course he is, he has some of Neo's code inside him
But wouldn't the Oracle have forseen all of this?
Not if she is unable to adapt. At this very moment his code could be searching for a weakness. in order to "see" or "forsee" anything, you have to be aware that these things exist, she may think that this is the period of The Calm as they say
Unless she did forsee it and she actually set the whole thing up to take control of the Matrix from the Architect. Maybe SHE's the ultimate bad guy here
She can be neither bad nor good, she has no emotion. But then the Architect would have no purpose
she's got more emotion than Neo, but that could just be Keanu's acting
lol
well. thanks to Neo, Smith has emotions, which is REAL BAD. Oh man! he still processes information like a program but he shows intense rage and hate
I'm torn now... I'm not sure if I should keep my story small or make another trilogy
no, no, we are merely discussing possibilities
so much stuff, so many questions
man, The Matrix could have so many stories and spinoffs, its actually infinite. there is no wrong answer
excellent. Then I can do whatever the hell I want.
exactly
It's a lot more freeing than writing Trek
of course, but there is actually more relative thinking pertaining to the Matrix, due to the complexity of the storyline, or lack thereof. Damn, I sound like a professor.
lol
There's no other way to discuss the Matrix
Imagine talking to a crackhead about the Matrix. "how long do you think the Matrix existed"
"You got a dollar?"
LOL
and with that, my friend, I say good evening
