okay, i saw two movies. one on video and one in the theatres.
the one on video is Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack! i was wondered what a good monster movie would look like with great special effects. this is the same sort of Godzilla comes out of the sea and starts destroying everything but unlike the other films which are poking fun this movie is a little ruthless in the destruction. the acting is decent and believable. action sequences are great especially since Godzilla and the other monsters are just suits with people in them.
the best part about watching the extended editions of the lord of the rings is seeing all the extra footage added in AND the four hour documentries. it's so rewarding to see the behind the scene footage and also see how hard everyone worked on these films. they also all worked well together and as a team they succeeded into bringing the lord of the rings book to life. i didn't any one person in the documentries look as if they didn't want to be there working on the movies.
so, what am getting to? i don't know but you can see in the actual films that everyone gave it their best and the direction is passionate about so it doesn't trivial anything much like other movies trying to be grandiose i.e. star wars, and the matrix. peter jackson is a wonderful film maker and his movies are all brillent. c'mon, dead alive, that scene when the protagonist runs through a room filled with zombies and chops them up with a lawn mower. even, the scene in meet the feebles, where the puppet hippo mows down all the other puppets with her machine gun.
return of the king made me teary eyed throughout the film because one i was finally seeing the great battles i love reading fully realized and amazingly done. two, this is last movie and there will not be another lord of the rings next year. fuck it life goes on.
there were lots of things left out but i don't give a shit this movie made my legs numb. it would have been nice to put the mini battle in the shire but whatever.
yeah, so GO WATCH RETURN OF THE KINGS NOW! right now, just go out to your nearest theatre and watch it. you know you want to.

Pixies
"I Bleed"
as loud as hell
a ringing bell
behind my smile
it shakes my teeth
and all the while
as vampires feed
i bleed
prithee, my dear,
why are we here
nobody knows
we go to sleep
as breathing flows
my mind secedes
i bleed
there's a place
in the buried west
in a cave
with a house in it
in the clay
the holes of hands
you can place
a hand in hand
in bleed
