I forgot one of my favorite remix albums on the last post. Attrition's Hand that Feeds. Freaking amazing album! Dark as hell! The album starts with a pure noise track and then goes into some type of darkwave techno (yeah I suck at the labels) and even includes a track reminiscient of old Thirll Kill Kult styles. Attrition is a really weird band. If you don't believe me then you either haven't heard their early 80's stuff or you're too underground for your own good. They're going to be in Tulsa November 21. Axis, my band, is opening for them. Its at the Tulsa Eagle which unfortunately is incredibly small! It should be fun though. I have no clue what Attrition will be like live. I'm expecting incredibly eccentric gothed out 40 year olds. They want to have their Thanksgiving in Tulsa. They also have a new album out that I need to look into. I can't listen to them for hours on end but I do enjoy them enough to have like 5 or 6 of their CDs.
Oh yeah I watched the original "The Wickerman" last night since they're releasing that remake with Nicolas Cage soon. I'm trying to give the movie some leeway since it was made in the early 70's but I still can't bring myself to like it. I disliked everything about the movie. It had no tension in it although I gather from the reviews and such it was supposed to be a tense movie. Almost all the music in the movie was uplifting Scottish chants. It had lots of gratuitous nudity in it but that doesn't really raise the standard of the film, it just makes me happy I at least saw boobs out of it. And the sight of the Wickerman didn't give me any chills. It was just a bland movie that probably had some message about religion that it wanted to deliver but it just came across as stupid. The main christian character wasn't particurally likeable and neither were the pagan villains. I have no interest in seeing the American version now.
