Man I hate the rock star types. I'm a little drunk right now so hopefully there won't be too many typos. I spend so much time around people similar to me that I forget what jackasses the local musician scene is mostly comprised of. I'd say in Tulsa, and I'm guessing everywhere else too, that maybe 25% of musicians are actually in music for the music. And of that 25% I bet only half of them are decent people. The other half are a bunch of megalomaniacs.
Tonight I had to endure the jackass part. I seriously doubt these guys really care about music. One of them was wearing a scarf. All of them had the emo perms. The egg cut. And they all acted like big shit. The comedic part of the party. But not actually funny. Some type of wanna be intellectual. I can be nice to anyone. I left because I'm a pretty blunt person. But I lose the common sense part of speech when alcohol is involved. I probably would have pissed them off quite a bit. Possibly gotten into a fight. Now I don't know that, I just think about things ahead. I'm at a good friends house. Its his party. Two of our friends birthdays. I don't want to get pissed off in front of them or bitch someone out in front of them. The guy who brought these guys in seemed totally oblivious to the fact that one of them was very much trying to get in his woman's pants. As in, she leaves a room, a minute later this guy follows. Its an unfair reaction for me to have on my part and very judgemental.
I'm a very instinctual person. I typically don't like people out of emotion. Logic usually has little to do with it. If logic has something to do with it then I've actually gotten to know this person to some degree no matter how little it may be.
Anyway, point being, I removed myself from the situation. Musicians are jackasses, take it from one. There are very few of us who can think beyond our nose. I'd imagine most artistic fields are like this. All the minor players looking to have some type of power and fame in their sad lives.
