Saturday, I rolled out of bed around 9am, which is a rarity for the weekend. There was a strong desire on my part to not get that "too much sleep" sickness, though. I hopped online for a few and ran into Austin. He and Bre were in town, so we decided to head on up to Barona, which I haven't done for a while on an off day. But it was still fun. Granted, I lost $50, but it lasted over the course of about 3 hours and we also got to eat at the buffet.
When we got back to my place, Austin gathered up his set of poker chips, stole my two remaining condoms (........jesus), and went on his way. I opted to take off somewhere. It was dark out, and I didn't have a destination in mind really, but I still got into my car and just drove. I headed all the way down the 8 to the coast.. traffic on the northbound 15 was at a stop, so I figured there was either a huge event going on at Qualcomm, or there was an accident. I made my way to the 5 and headed north. I missed the freeway that leads me back to where I live, so I ended up in Del Mar. I got off the freeway and decided to head over to the Barnes & Noble up there. I flipped through a photo book on the Vietnam War, and briefly scanned through the fiction section to see if they had copies of my favorite books. And they did. I looked through a couple computer books, then opted to head back towards home.
I stopped off at the Chevron station before I got home so I could pick up a 12 pack of Squirt. I really have been craving soda lately, and I had plans to watch the World Poker Tour on NBC on Sunday. I love the fact that Texas Hold 'Em is getting such crazy media coverage.
Instead of flat-out calling it a night, I gave Kristen a call to see if she'd be up for a lil' company. I hadn't gotten the chance to sit down and talk with her for nearly a year now, so it was nice to go over to her place. We caught up on everything that was going on in our lives before I eventually headed home at about midnight.
