Granted, I'm glossing over a lot that has happened in the past couple months... mostly including a giant fire, a ton of work, and a lil' romance..... so, I figure, why not just dive right into the middle of it all?
Last night, Ann and I went to her company holiday part. It was at this fancy restaurant called Bertrand at Mr A's. She works for this fancy landscape architect that is responsible for some pretty damn amazing setups around this part of the US, hence the private dining room with a glass walled view of downtown San Diego and the airport. Honestly, I had a great time. It was indeed awkward at times, but mostly because I didn't know a single person there besides Ann. The first course for me was this salmon and asparagus salad, which looked like a beautiful piece of art. It was so tiny, but visually appealing. In the way of taste, though, well... the only thing I can really compare it to is a horses ass. The salmon was maybe 2 millimeters thin, uncooked, and the asparagus was topped with what looked like some four-leaf clovers.
The main course, though, was magnificent. Again, it looked like a piece of art... I had the free range chicken. It was so tender and moist, and it was served with these mashed potatos of some sort. Typically, potatos have a pretty bland taste, but they had so much flavor to them, that just a small bite felt like five. And I finished off the night with creme brulee.
Best part of the night though? Ann. I can't really describe how she looked with any justice, but it was hot. We're talkin' satin' shirt and skirt, both styled with asian influences. I think that if it weren't for the fact that it was 40 degrees outside on the roof, we'd have ripped each other's clothes off. ::nods:: No doubt. So, we had to wait 'til we got home.

I tossed an entry up regardin' what happened a bit. It sucked, but I'm used to it. Plus, I get a longer weekend now. AND, free drugs... mmmm....
