LET'S MOVE SEATTLE....
I have been living in Seattle for 2 years, and almost everytime I go to a show I am disappointed. I am not disappointed in the music, but by the people there. When a band is good you gotta let them know. It seems like everyone in Seattle is too stuck up and too cool to move. Everyone just stands there, hands in pocket, straight face, texting on their cell phones, and just not looking like they wanna be there. I'm no dancer, but music makes me wanna move whether it's jumping up and down, moshing, or whatever; especially, when I am at a live show and the band is putting on a good performance. These guys are working hard to make good music for you, so show them that you appreciate it.
Last night I saw The Dead Weather and Tyvek opened for them. Both bands put on a great show. However, nobody was showing it during Tyvek, and even when Dead Weather came on there was only a small group of people who were showing it. Not only that but when some of us were just jumping up and down people were looking at us like it's not cool to do in Seattle at a rock show. What really pissed me off is some redneck bastard sporting his mullet and big mustache actually punched a dude in the face who was only jumping up and down because the kid got pushed into him and he didn't want to be part of the mosh I guess...so go fucking stand somewhere else, there is a balcony section at the venue I was at, and I say everyone who doesn't want to have a good time with the rest of us can go buy a ticket in the fucking seated section since they are not gonna move anyways. Oh, and of course all these guys who are at the front of the stage who don't wanna mosh are like 6'10" and if the people on the floor want to see the band when we can't anyways. They are also there of course with their girlfriends so there is no way they are gonna move away from them more than 2 feet so you can't get close to the stage if you want.
I'm venting because it seems like almost every show in Seattle is like this and it's really depressing.
