What is this Ikea nesting instinct, and why am I drawn in so helplessly by it? Ever since we got our own Ikea store, I go there almost once a week. Whether for storage boxes, lamps and light bulbs, or chocolate bars, I always find a reason to at least go look around. Today I bought a full length mirror and a little two-drawer thing which is going to be my bedside table - which is going to hold the lamp that I bought the last time I shopped there.
It's pretty bad.
All in all, today was a pretty good day. It was a much needed day off that i spent without any real plans. First I took some time to look around at all the shops and the scenery in a little artsy district by this upscale college. It's always so pleasant to just walk through it. In my younger days as your typical cookie-cutter-goth-girl I posed for photos in the adjacent cemetery. I laugh at the ridiculousness of that now, but man, that is certainly THE place to be buried.
Later I got to see a demo for Devil May Cry, and OhEmGeee, that is one amazing looking game. I can't wait for it to come out cuz ima gunna play it! fo'realsies!
Then Jon and I went to Ikea where he proved his worth as the manly man, finding and hauling my heavy stuff to the car for me. After that he took me to my favorite toy/comic shop, mostly because he wanted to see if they had the WOW figure that came out today, but I got my chance to gawk at the great wall art, toys and various other things that I rarely get to see because Florida is so chock full of old and boringness. Then we topped it all off with some of the best sushi ever. The end.
Yep. I'd say that was a pretty good day.
Well, except for the drive home where some asshole redneck in his asshole redneck truck was fucking with me in traffic for no apparent reason, cutting in front of me slamming on his brakes and then speeding up, not letting me pass him, then slamming on his brakes again to almost a complete stop......continued for the majority of the time spent of the highway. I finally got up beside him and yelled at him asking him as kindly as i could in the situation what his problem was but he ignored me and turned. I don't get it. Oh well. To each his own, I guess.
Oh wait. I almost forgot. The comic I did a guest panel for went up. Take a look!

You might punch me in the face for this but, i've never heard of Ikea before today.

Hmm, sounds like you need to join Abbiss' latest group, Shopaholics! I should run the eBay section and you can run the Ikea section. Loved the panel art - now I'll have to go to the IMDB to see if they really ARE contemplating a sequel (never put anything, no matter how stupid, past Hollywood). As for the dumbass redneck in the truck, those guys are everywhere - frustrated asshats. That's probably the closest he's ever gotten to a (human) female. Maybe he wanted you two to have an accident so he could get your number....
