I woke up in the best mood! How completely random is that? I think it had a lot to do with the crispness of the air... Autumn is coming. That means: cider, doughnut holes, caramel apples, pumpkin pie, colored leaves, clean crisp air, jack-o-lanterns, Halloween, thanksgiving, my brother's 16th birthday, my girl Chrissy's birthday, November... when the boy comes to see me again... endless list of things that make me outright blissful. When I woke up it didn't matter that what woke me was a call from a telemarketer what mattered was how good I felt snuggled up under more than just a sheet with my kitty curled up in a ball at my tummy purring and the clean crisp air coming in my wide open window. I love the fall. It is not nearly long enough in this part of NY. *Sigh*
I had a "work function" to go to tonight. Some boat ride on the "moon dance" on lake Erie... Wooo. Weird though it was it was not as bad as I thought it would be. I am a "call girl" for an insurance company. Well at least that is what they jokingly call me. It is the only gig I could get that would allow me to work from home. So anyways... the people I work for are rich preppy type people and I don't quite fit into their mold but they are the nice on the outside to anyone type of people. I went on this boat ride to schmooze and maybe network so I could possibly land a better job within the company. I don't make enough as it is doing what I do for them. Since the accident I have had to work my way back up in things I have no experience in. So, ok, I went and took my HANDSOME friend Aaron... he's good at schmoozing too. It was open bar so that helped and they had snacks. I wish I would have known that the wives of the insurance agents were the ones that made the food, I could have won points that way being that I used to be the head of a kitchen prior to the accident. Meh, . I wasn't dressed pastel yacht type clothing enough and Aaron was over dressed with a shirt and tie and pinstripe pants. Also I think I was a touch too honest when telling them that the information I receive to make the calls I do wasn't up to par if you will... oh well they asked, and if they fix it that will make my job much easier. *shrug* After a few glasses of blush the night was easier to swallow. All in all it was a good time. And my insurance agent is a freaking riot and his secretary/niece is a 20 y/o lush who didn't know who Journey was till she saw them this summer!
When I left I didn't want to stop drinking... I had a good buzz going on and so I stopped off at Wegmans on the way home and picked up some more alcohol. Good times. I have never drunk alone. But, at least I can drink, my brother is at a family function of his girlfriends so I am sitting here with my kitty getting my drink on. Rosy cheeks and all.
I love the text messages my boy sends me... he has no idea how happy they make me!
In other news I am going to be working at a porn shop come September. Sweet deal, I get to be paid to sell toys and plan my best friend's wedding. (It is her store.) I can't wait, I need the money.
I have been listening to C-Tec, Raised in Black, and Pigface.
Well, I'm off to make drunken comments here on SG.
