ok, heres a journal.
and in an idea i nicked off Doplex, i'm gonna break it down - and spoiler the "less upbeat" stuff...

so it appears i really have been having a massive 2006 comedown, or new year blues, or whatever it is. this hasn't been helped by work, my new job, my new extended drive to work, the horrendous early mornings, and my miserable replacement i'm having to train.
last night, the thought of going into work was actually making me feel nauseous. this was mainly due to the fact i was having the first of two massive training sessions with the girl thats doing my old work, and she really isn't a happy bunny. stroppy, miserable and very argumentative.
so we had the first training session this afternoon, and yeah, it wasn't great. i just don;t understand the point of sitting there not saying a word looking confused and not answering any questions. if you don't understand it - ASK?!
anyway...got more of that on monday... whatever

the other thing is one of my best mates went into hospital again yesterday for an operation on her left eye. last year was pretty traumatic for her, having had 6 operations on her right eye. it seems they got the right one sorted, but with slight loss to her vision. now its the turn of the left one.
i was pretty worried about her, but as it happens, i heard from her this afternoon and all went well. which is what the doctors said last time. i hope she gets chance to rest up and gives it a chance to heal. cos she don't want another year like last year.

i must say though, the working week downers have been considerably alleviated by the last few weekends I've had. the people that have been involved know who they are, and they've certainly managed to lift my mood and help me forget about the "argh-ness" of work for a couple of days. you guys rule. biggrin



POSITIVE
Loads of ace stuff coming up as of next week...
- one more week to go, then i'm on holiday!
- 7 Bouncing Souls shows in a row
- meeting up with lots of SG people around the country
- getting to hang out with some of my best friends (some of whom i've not seen since my birthday)
- new tattoos
- a curry biggrin

i also got the new Alklaine Trio album, "REMAINS"...

i must say it's reminded me of why i loved Alkaline Trio in the first place. their last album was pretty disappointing, and i haven't played them much recently, but this is so great.
although its a CD of b-sides an stuff, and its tracks i've already got, put together on an album it actually stands up as a really great Alkaline Trio CD. I'm well impressed...and have been shouting along to it in the car on my excrutiating drives to work! tongue

hehehe. I try and avoid drunken posting (this is probably a lie) as I tend to ramble. a lot.
poor iannnnnn got a drunken 3-part text after we went out drinking last year. shocked

as for the horrors, my friend's initial take on them was "I don't know if I like them or hate them", which I'll remind him of this week.

only downside to me dragging them to something is that the other friend will then drag us to some bloody rave act in december...
