Last night, me and Jackie and Carmel and Shaun and gtwr went to see Rancid, and they were FUCKING EXCELLENT!
they played a totally old school set, mostly songs from "Lets Go" and "And Out Come The Wolves", a couple off "Life Won't Wait", and a smattering of other random tracks, including a couple of Bastards songs and a couple of Operation Ivy tracks - of which them playing "Knowledge" was the surprise of the eve.
two noteable things from the evening:
1. Tim doesn't really play his guitar very much. He looks like he does sometimes, but nothing happens. From what i worked out, he only managed to play the two note guitar solo in "Time Bomb" and the little jangly guitar solo in "Fall Back Down".
this is why the Transplants obviously had an extra guitarist live!
2. Jackie told me a few "things" that she'd like to do to Lars, but then inadvertantly included Tim into a "senario" - thats an image i want OUT OF MY HEAD RIGHT NOW!

was such an ace gig though, and i'd totally forgotten how much i love Rancid. it seems them being away so long, and all the faffing about since i last saw them (the Brody debacle, The Transplants) had kinda got in the way.
