So I have been in Alaska a little over a week now, so far I love it. The area is beautiful and I love that I live in a valley and that the mountains completely surround us. The job went very well this first week. I have been able to cremate some bodies so that was my first time dabbeling in that. I have seen most of the process done before and I have helped put the bodies in the retort but never done the whole thing by myself. I go to take my licensing test next week down in Anchorage. I have one so many state law exams at this point I'm not even sweating it. Once I get all of that taken care of for work I will then have to get my Alaska drivers license so I can be considered a resident and in a few years get my dividend check
I wonder what the winters will be like; I am closer to the ocean so we don't get a large amount of snow but the temp. gets down to -30. Since it is dark out most of the winter I ordered an LED hula hoop, I am excited for that to get here. It was hard to choose between the LED or just glow in the dark. None of my belongings have made it from Cali yet so I am still sitting in an empty apartment. Hopefully my lizard will be getting mailed to me at the beginning of next week, I have to make sure I get out and buy him a tank this weekend, I have one heat lamp that will be here before he is but the rest of his stuff is one the semi but like I said I am not sure when that is supposed to show up. Tomorrow I am going to the reindeer farm with my co-worker/kind of roommate and one of these weekends I want to make the drive to see the glaciers. I don't have many pictures yet and my computer is still on the semi so once I get that set up I will upload my pictures and get some on her and by that time I will have pictures from the reindeer farm
This blog is pretty random and kind of jumps all over the place so sorry about that, hopefully my next one will be better when I have more time
