What a long day. I went out to run a few errands with a friend, and it turned into a 7 hour ordeal. Not a bad ordeal, but I was wishing I was somewhere else halfway through it. The cool thing was that we got to see Cheap Trick soundcheck!!! My friend knew a guy in their crew, and they let us stay. For you oldsters who appreciate Cheap Trick, they did "Oh, Caroline", and Rick Nielson did an acoustic version of The Who's "Substitute". I got into those guys back in '79. They were the band that got me off KISS.
Other than that, I spent a bunch of $$$ on stupid shit. Score for the day: A U.K. Subs 7inch on green vinyl for $2!!! I've seen it for $15. I also got another record of Humungus w/ CHEETAH CHROME! I'm a huge Dead Boys fan. When I was 19, I hung out with Cheetah. Probably the second coolest time I ever had, right behind the whole Johnny Thunders thing. We were all messed up, and he told me a bunch of stories about hanging out with Sid and shit like that. The coolest guy, but you wanna talk about rough around the edges. He was down in Richmond, VA producing my old band's demo (a few months before I was in the band). He did a horrible job, but it's pretty cool that he did it.
Damn! I gotta go into work tomorrow for a meeting. I totally want to go out tonight, but bossmang has gotta prepare for tomorrow. Hope y'all have a great time tonight!
