I rock.
The conference was great. Highlights were:
> A receiption at York Brewery
> A conference dinner on the cobbled victorian streets of the huge reconstruction within the York Castle Museum itself. I was like a five year old boy again, going round that museum. The food was great too!
> Our workshop going REALLY well, only finding out exactly how well over the subsequent two days.
> Meeting lots of groovy bods from all over the world and chatting like nobody's business
> Discussing writing a book (with Dr Q) with a well know south coast publisher (two of the editors had attended our workshop, see)
> Getting a journal publication out of this.
> Generally schmoozing and, in particular, meeting someone whom I really get on with (who also has uncontrollable nipples - just imagine that for a second 
). Almost had my eye out!
> York itself is beautiful and steeped in history - no photos though
I have only one free weekend until the middle of October. This is great, 'cos they are all nice things (except for one open day weekend in August). I am going to see many of you lovely people again over the next few months In various ways, on various days. Crikey - it's almost like I've got a social life!!!
One more thing.
I have become quite tubby lately. Of course, at times like these, one's thoughts are automatically drawn to the possibility of me doing a SuicideBoy set. There are two reasons for this:
1/ I will be able to look back at these some months in the future and think "bloody 'ell - I weren't 'alf chubby then!", thus making a grand entrance at future meets, to the murmur of "he's so very thin and handsome. I wonder if I can resist this feeling of near obsessional lust?"
2/ My friend is a photographer. We would like to shoot a series of 'tributes' to SuicideGirl sets. We are aware that many SGs would be appalled to have their sets spoofed - particularly by someone they hadn't met before. And it would be a spoof too - you should see the state of me Therefore, we would only spoof with direct permission - and perhaps with some of the original props. We would try and emulate lighting, narrative etc. and follow the poses shot by shot.
What d'ya reckon?
And before TheNonStopDancer asks. YES, we HAVE considered multiple sets - you live too far away though.
