I think I'd like to start meeting some people who work on cars, like body work and stuff. I've been sitting here wondering how I can get out and about more in my new home and the answer was right in front of me the whole time, damnit!
If anyone has suggestions of how to get into this feel free to drop them here. I have ZERO knowledge about cars. But I have loads of related experience which should make working on cars for fun a reality for me!
I also don't own a car. See any hurdles?

best thing you could do would be to start reading anything and everything you can get your hands on about bodywork and custom cars...it is an art, not just a vocation...there are a ton of custom shops in your area..pay them a visit, OFTEN...show a genuine interest and you never know what you may learn. you may even get to push the broom(it's not a put-down, it's where you start).if you are truly interested, i can go a bit more in-depth about some of it via e-mail.
