Where have I been, so that I never watched this until now...
I finally saw the movie "THE BEAT", I could watch it another two or three times in a row just to catch more and more of it... but it was on IFC, maybe it will be in rotation...
I can't believe that the director (Brandon Sonnier) was only 20 when he brought it to the Sundance film festival. Not that I really know if that means anything, from a work perspective, but I'm pretty sure it means YOU RULE.
Also owns this film: Rahman Jamaal ("Flip") and Steve Connell ("Artis")
On a different note, my cousin has managed to be in full withdrawl from her pesky life threatening crack addiction for 9 days and counting. She is sick as a dog, and mostly is passed out, but at least she's not holed up in a dirty motel room with a bunch of other homeless crackheads. I've done nothing but think about her and her mom and brother ever since I found out what was happening back in Canadaland. I am so fucking glad, although I'm "cautiously optimistic". My aunt (her mom) is going to take her first trip outside Canada in the spring and come and visit with her hubby. She's finally learning that she has to take care of her before she can even begin to help her daughter. I had to learn that lesson the hard way.
2006 is already better than last year. I have lots to be thankful for, lots to work on, and I can't wait for the summer. I might get a chance to go floatin' in the Meramac river in Missouri!!! Stick my ass in that inner-tube and watch me melt under the warm summer sun with my Dead guy ale in one hand and my sunblock in the other. If I don't go camping soon I might die.

r.i.p. yip/infiltration/Ninjalicious/jeff -- you made me go where i may possibly get my ass kicked but it always feels good to be there anway... worth the risk... Thanks.
