I need to lose a little weight. Ok, more like almost 20 pounds.
I've been trying to lose weight for a couple months now, but factors have made it so that I couldn't. And not that I just couldn't, but that I actually gained! And it's the flubbery kind of weight that you gain from just putting shit in your body.
I'm not the kind of girl that freaks out about her weight, I'm really not. When I'm healthy, even if it's a little over, I don't mind. I think I look fine.
But this isn't it. This is me just not having the time to make my lunch at home, always eating out, and staying out so late that I'm hungry for a second dinner practically 4 times a week. All of those things aren't good and I'm going to stop them, as well as find time to excercise a lot more.
I'm pretty pissed that I let go of myself like that. But I don't see myself going out anywhere, maybe besides dancing, in these next couple weeks before I leave for Europe. I'm way too busy to go out anyway. Which means having time in the mornings to make lunch, having the 30 minutes a day to work out, NO second dinners, etc, etc.
Oh, and save your: "But you're fine just the way you are," "You're so cute no matter your weight," and any other similar comments. I know my body, and I know this is too heavy and that it's the bad kind of weight. You don't.

1. NEVER eat before bed. Leave a minimum of two hours after your last meal/snack before you go to sleep. Eating before your body starts to digest will cause you to gain weight much faster than if you ate the same meal a couple hours before sleeping. This will also prevent or reduce acid reflux.
2. Drink lots of water. To be specific, take your body weight number, then cut that in half. Whatever that number is, drink that in ounces of water every day. For instance, if you weigh 140 pounds, then drink 70 ounces of water every day. Make this a routine. You'll feel less hungry, your skin will feel clearer, smoother and softer, and you'll digest your food more efficiently. Also, if you are headache prone, this will help it tremendously.
In the long term, the real fixes are walking an hour a day, getting some sun, and cutting out processed sugars. That last one is a killer, but I'm working on it right now and it'll make a world of difference in the long run. It'll also reduce my chances of getting arthritis or joint pain as I get older.
Sorry if all of this sounds pointless, but it's working for me so I thought I would share.
