okay, so today i went into the tattoo parlor in monterey and asked the artist for a price estimate on the tattoo i am getting. i thought it was going to be pretty expensive so i was hesitant, but it turns out that it's probably going to be about $80-90.
i'm so stoked! this means i can get it a lot sooner than i originally thought, hopefully within the next month.
so, with that said, here's what i am going to get, where i am going to get it on my body, and what it means to me:

the small of my back, aka "tramp stamp"...fuck you, haters. it's the only place i think it will look good, lol.
meaning:
the original image and idea was inspired by one of my favorite bands of all time, dredg. there's a song called "ode to the sun" that contains a lyric that pretty much sums up how i live my life. "let the demons have their place/if so its angels you'll create". this is how i interpret the line...in your life, bad things happen. people you love die, you suffer heartbreak, etc. the thing is, with every unfortunate event in your life comes a lesson. for every person who stabs you in the back, you learn from them. for every boy that breaks your heart, you're stronger from it. as they say, there's a silver lining to every cloud. when you accept the bad things for what they are, you can grow from them and overcome them and be the devine you know you are. the demons in your life are the seeds that allow the angels in your life grow and eventually overcome.
so hopefully by april i will have this done. i can't wait.
