My cousin, in an effort to make up for our lack of vacation fun and dinner at the Praline Connection, took me out for dinner and a movie tonight. We saw The Legend of Zorro, and it was very odd hearing Antonio Banderas calling another character Armand.

But maybe only for me, since for a very long time, I used a sound clip of Antonio from Interview with the Vampire as one of my shutdown sounds: "And...remember my name: Armand."

Oh, that man in period costume...

I mentioned the events of yesterday to her at dinner. She's met the boy a time or two but doesn't know him well enough to pick him out of a lineup, so how did she know he was serious about me when I didn't? And how come she didn't tell me??

Well, I asked. She said, "It wouldn't have made a difference. You were still running scared from the shit Mike pulled, and if you'd realized he was serious, you'd have run from him too."

She's right. She's always right.

I hate it when she's right.
