I've got the blues today. Not only am I dreading the onset of real winter, but...but...
my glorious vacation--our trip to New Orleans that has been in the works since August of last year (we've all known it was coming for years, but that's when I got impatient and started building our reunion website)--was supposed to begin on Wednesday. We were going to attempt bingo at Fiorella's Thursday night, where the bingo is interspersed with odd movie clips played on a projector and the caller reportedly looks like Johnny Depp. Sitting on the grass in Jackson Square with a daiquiri listening to whatever random music happens to be playing--there's always random music near Jackson Square. Avoiding the tennis shoe people. Leaning on the railing on the River Walk, watching the Mississippi roll by. A streetcar ride to the Garden District. The Creole cottages and the shotgun houses. The delicious accents you hear everywhere you go. The air touching your skin like a velvet caress. The garish lights and sounds of Bourbon Street on a Saturday night.
I miss you, New Orleans. I'll be back someday soon, baby. You know I can't stay away.

So, because I'm bored, I've been making Christmas ornaments:
I've only put this particular task off for...oh, 7 years or so, but I don't really have the patience for it. I get annoyed and give up when things don't go right, and I'm not good at sewing so things don't go right a lot.
