Allrighty, how is everyone doing today? I hope you all had a terrific weekend. Mine was grade A shitty Ok, I was scheduled to work 4p to midnight on Friday but earlier this week one of the managers asked me if I could cover a midnight to midnight shift too. I agreed, thinking it was come in Sat night/Sun morning at midnight, and get off Sun night/Mon morning at midnight. So, Im at work on Friday night, a little irritated when no one shows up at midnight but then I realize shit, he said Saturday at midnight until Sunday at midnight. Ok, I relax and get over it so, I do the 24 hour shift and then the next midnight that rolls around NO ONE COMES IN. So, I call my house manager and leave a message saying that Im supposed to be off and no one came in, and I also page him. No reply. So, I call the other on call manager whos in charge of some other houses but is supposed to assist if our houses need it, I explain that Robbie (my manager) isnt answering the phone and the situation. She tells me well, I dont have his schedules so I cant help you holy shit, she has everyone in the companys phone number and is perfectly capable of calling someone so I figure, whatever, Ill wait and see if someone comes in at 8a. Of fucking course not alright, so I call both on calls AGAIN and leave messages AGAIN and what do you know, neither of them call back. Rock. So Ive been here for 15 hours more than I was supposed to be so far, and Im pretty sure no one comes in until midnight. Sooo hurray for a fucking 56 hour shift. Im normally pretty easy going, and generally happy person but Im livid right now. I mean, Robbie KNOWS that had he called me and told me he couldnt get ahold of any one and asked if Id cover the shift, I would but it pisses me off that no one even bothered to ask me or tell me. Ugh assholes. I cant even say I quit and leave or Ill get arrested for abandonment. Super. What a terrific weekend. Oh well, on the brighter side, thatll be at least 24 hours of over time on my next two paychecks. Good timing my manager just called I pick up the phone and hes all no one came in to relieve you?!?!?! Im sooo sorry, I would have called sooner but I have been out of town. Ill see if I can get someone to come in for you as soon as possible. Im so sorry. I told him that if worse comes to worse, I can wait it out until midnight when shift change is. Ugh dammit, that lessens my anger at Robbie damn him haha. Oh well hopefully Ill be off work soon ** Couple hour later update... to top off my stellar day, I dropped my cell phone in the toilet.
