Read a paraphrased bumper sticker at Wal-Mart tonight(needed to recharge my goPhone). Got me thinking. I believe that the opposite is actually true. We've become trapped within our Faith(God), our Fear, and our Desire to be Safe(Guts).
I believe the concept that America is an experiment in Freedom is actually a Myth, but more an experiment in Balance. True freedom is Anarchy in my opinion, in which no one is to be held accountable for any action, including murder, rape, anything. The other side of the coin allows the citzens to be safe and secure, but only when the protecting body of government takes complete control over what the citzens do at all times. I think that's Fascism, right? With Anarchy we lose our Security, and with Fascism we lose our Freedom.
So we have here a country attempting to maintain a balance. Our country tries to give the people enough Freedom to make them believe they can do what they like, and enough laws to make the people feel Safe and Secure living within the nation's walls.
Problem I've noticed is, during Peacetime the laws seem too restrictive to the people who enjoy their freedoms and during Wartime they seem too lax to the scare populace who just realized we're not safe. I've also noticed how easily the freedoms we love are given away becuase we are so afraid, but once the fear passes and we want them back it's like dragging a chew toy away from a playful puppy. You pretty much have to smack the dog to make it see you aren't playing around.
Not sure where Im heading with this rant... but Im outta steam... so have fun

Always good to rant... I have a hard time with that whole balance of freedom and security... I don't think a perfect balance is possible.
How did the interview go?
