Boss was out of town and it was a super relaxing week at work. It's not easy working directly under the oldest most experienced person in the office.
"See I imagine you're a democrat, but I'm a republican. The difference is you work for me."
That's a direct quote.
I spent the week drawing sections and details of a breezeways, ramps, and stairs to send to the engineer. I recall the joy I got from drawing when I was younger, but technical drawing can be mind numbing at times. I did learn a few tricks to speed me up, and I always learn more about how buildings work after I draw the thing. It was way satisfying to print out four sheets of drawings and think yes! I did that.
Tonight I'm going to a "fashion monster" party. I probably should have gone to first friday, but something held me back.
Today I bought a pair of asics sneakers. Ever since I saw kill bill, i have been infatuated with having a pair. I'm sure that movie only helped their sales. I'm wearing them right now, they are black and pink and rather comphy. and happen to look damn sexy with faux leather pants.
I got a car. A 97 nissan maxima. it's kind of big, but runs well.
matt went to boone for the weekend to see his brother. it'll be weird having a weekend without him. we have both been so busy and tired, and haven't spent as much meaningful time together as i would like. but i also value my personal time.
i have been reading two books lately. one called "gyn/ecology: the metaphysics of radical feminism" and the other good ole "the metamorphosis" by franz kafka. i got a copy with critical notes and essays in the end, which i am now reading now that i have re-read the story. i can kind of relate to how kafka worked during the day to make his money and pay the bills, and immersed himself in his real passion (namely writing) at night. i suspect many people have similarly compartmentalised lives.
the party starts in about an hour. i'm going to clean my room in the meantime.
