So, I must pack today. For the most part I have everything in boxes and ready to go, but I still need to square away a few things.
After I threw out most of what would be junk and cleaned up the clutter, I realized I really do not own much. I think that's a good sign.
My debt is nothing. I am easy to pack. Everything heavy is musical related. Four guitars and three amplifiers. I have a computer. I'm tossing my bed and just buying a futon. I love futons. Nothing is better than fucking on a futon. Just about everything I own can fit into a 12 x 12 square very comfortably.
Some people may see that as a sign that I'm not living "The American Dream" or that I'm not fulfilling my potential to accumulate shit. I have everything I need.
My roommates are always trying to hint at me getting a new car. Sure I can afford to buy a nice fucking car with all of the bells and whistles, but why? So I can have a car payment and outrageous fucking insurance payments. Screw that. They think I should buy a house. Fuck that. If I want to move tomorrow and live in some cheese producing community in France, I would like to do it with a minimum of hassle.
I'm not a nomad by any means. I just like the feeling of not having to be burdened down by shit.
Speaking of moving to France, I stumbled across a website today that rocks the fucking hizzy. Expatriates is the fucking site to go to if you ever wondered how much it would cost for rent in another country. I am seriously thinking of leaving this country and moving to another place. I'm not talking about starting over. That would entail having to leave everything behind. I love my friends and family too much to do that. I'm talking about moving to another country for 2 or 3 or 5 years and just living there. That would kick so much ass. I'm going to do it. Not today or tomorrow, but within two years I'm going to have an International Driver's License and start kicking ass in France. Maybe Germany. Possibly Japan. I dunno.

Also, I suggest Japan to move to. I lived there for almost 2 years and it ruled. Sure the language is hard, but if you seriously study for like, 6 months beforehand, you'll have a great time over there.
