Snow.
______
It's said that each flake of snow is unique and distinct.
Together billions form broad landscapes of white, the colour of light. A subtle shift of light to shade: brilliant as gold, a smokey rose, gun metal grey, a dusty slate.
I've spent the last two months on the prairies. I set my dear, dear brother to rest.
I've had a lot of time to reflect on months of long drives. Stop, stand in a field of snow, on a sunny day. At the right angle every flake sparkles. Proof enough. God exists.
It's said that the Inuit use fourty seven words for snow. Some perhaps, beautiful. Some, terrifying. All I know, sometimes the sledding gets tough.
