Interesting! I'm not sure if Berlin still has ghost subway stations, but while we had two Germanys and two Berlins, some subway lines originated and ended in the West but traversed Eastern territory, so those Eastern stations were dead, save for the occasionally visible border guards. Spooky!

There are abandoned stations on the Glasgow Underground, too, I believe.

The setting sun was shining through a narrow slot in the clouds, producing this odd scalloped effect. I would have taken many more, as the effect got better and weirder as the sun got lower in the sky, but couldn't, as I was standing in the middle of the road at the time.
