This past Saturday I went to the Attic in Kettering, Ohio. There were four bands playing that night Since By Man, As Cities Burn, Poison The Well, and Underoath.
Primarily I was ther to see Poison The Well. Their set was sooo awesome. They played one of my favorite tunes Slice Paper Wrists and left out my true favorite For A Bandaged Iris. Still there set was brutual and the crowd was young by really receptive.
The two opening bands SInce by Man and As Cities Burn weren't bad. The crowd was into them but I was not familar with their music so it was hard to judge their performance. Since By Man reminded me a little of Every Time I Die but much less charasmatic. Honestly As Cities Burn kind of came off that way too. There was something missing in there set they are one of those bands with good music that falls just a little shy of being a lot better.
Now for Underoath! Underoath was actually really good live they got the crowd into it and sounded very similar to their albums. They played a couple pieces of their new album which comes out in like three weeks. The first track on that album came off just awesome live, great tone, strength, and character. Their new album if you can judge by that song will be an awesome listen. Ok so I have rambled on enough... Be real and be hard... Next show 6/14/06 Lamb of God at the Newport!!!
