I have nothing to say, but, as I have probably said before, that isn't going to stop me.
Shit is the same as ever. Work all week, sit on my ass on my day(s) off. Except I am stuck working with another guy this summer, which is cruel as my helper could be working with someone else, and my boss knows I prefer to work alone. She normally accomodates me there, but not this summer for some reason. The guy's alright, it's just that one of the main good parts about my job was working alone all day. I could just zone out, listen to some audiobooks, and not be all that conscious of the boring ass nature of my job. Now I have to talk to a guy all day, adjust my pace to his instead of working as fast or slow as I am in the mood for.
At least the summer is over, and the weather has been really mild the past couple of weeks. If it stays like this for the rest of the month, I will not mind. Working outdoors in August is normally unbearable. Just drenched in sweat, slowly cooking all day. The rain hasn't been too bad either this season. Hopefully though, this will be my last year in this particular line of unskilled labor. Barring some kind of financial disaster, which wouldn't really surprise me, I hope to move myself into some part of NYC either in the winter or early spring. (Or somewhere else. I've never been particularly excited about moving to NYC, it's just the closest city, and seems the likely place I'll end up. Seattle always seems like a nice city to me, though I've never actually been there. I liked Chicago during the little time I spent there, but I dunno about their winters.) The main barrier to that being my complete lack of connections in the city to get a good job and really only one useful reference there. If anyone knows someone looking to hire a guy who doesn't have any particular skills but isn't a total idiot (preferrably indoors), I'll take any help I can get. Though as I said, it won't be for several months yet, so that is a pretty pointless request. Just keep me in mind if you hear of anyone looking to hire someone to sit on their ass all day not doing too much for a lot of money. Breaking in recliners or beer quality testing or something.
Ehh, I think that's about it. rock over london, rock on chicago.

On the other hand who would want a job where they're universally hated unless they are getting really well paid?

You're probably right. Satanists too, in all likelihood.
