I have an ingrown nail. 
I tend to bite my cuticles - usually when I am nervous, or in need of a cigarette. In this case, I was watching Texas Chainsaw Massacre : The Beginning, and I guess I was a little frightened.
Anyway, short story shorter..I have a horribly painful red bubble next to my nail, and Meaney tells me it's an ingrown nail.
My thumb feels like it has a rubber band wrapped around its base. It's constantly throbbing, and I can't move it at all - not even to ash my cigarette. Sometimes I catch myself holding my breath because of the pain, and because of this, I am worried I might pass out. I have to put my whole body into changing Tommy's diaper, and have given up completely on trying to dress him. This is no joke, people. I am in pain.
Have any of you had experience with an ingrown nail, and if so..are you still attached to the digit that was affected?
