i've watched all the faces collapse
form into words that never speak
the tongue chokes on every syllable
only to see you standing in front of me
light glaring from behind you
like some angelic silhouette
i notice your every move
but your fingers never grace my skin
i can feel your warmth
every breath you take in
your lungs fill and exhale
your heart beats louder in my ears
it drowns out the world
you are all i hear
all i ever want to see
but you will never notice
