Not much is new with me at this exact moment in time.....but I think they will be soon.
S and I went out on the weekend just for fun and bought over 60 items to fill a kitchen, not including pots and pans and dishes. I still have another page of things we don't have.
After much discussion and thought I have decided to take a tribal class (American Tribal Style) for the next few months with my current teacher. Then in the summer start with the Arabesque Academy, which is more about perfecting and learning than just choreography. My mum (who I went to advice as I do with everything) said that it sounds as though I have outgrown my current teacher, and want more. I think she is right. S agreed that I probably do not have much more to learn from the current teacher and it is time to move on.
This happened with my guitar teacher too. After 8 years of lessons he said that there was nothing more he could teach me and gave me the name of somebody who would be able to show me more. Unfortunately by that point I was tired of guitar and busy with other things so I just stopped altogether, but I don't feel that yet with MED.
Other than that I expect things to be hectic, but I like it that way most of the time. Classes start next week on Tuesday. I am also planning to head to a few seminars, some work related, some not. And I'm taking a few days off in April to go to the Bellydance Conference for a few seminars / films / etc.
I've been feeling stagnant having been out of school for a few years now, and I feel the need to be in some kind of learning environment again. I understand now why my mum went back to school in her 40s to complete her Master's degree. I could see myself doing the same in a few years.
