Half day of work to finish some things off and then I'm done until 2008 with some small things to do at home. I am very much looking forward to the next week and a half off. My plan is to shop, visit Kev (suddenly_subtle) if he is around, knit myself something, and cook:
1. Zucchini Vichyssoise
2. Cheese Straws
3. Ice Cream Bombe (did this yesterday)
4. Blue Cheese Souffle
5. Winter Squash Soup
6. TBC
Tonight is the usual family dinner with my mum. I made sure to buy 2 bottle of wine (Mad Fish from Australia - white wine - tastes like jewels in your mouth - try it!) and I intend to finish them off. Last year I played drunken poker with my stepbrothers. This year......
Christmas Day I am at my dad's with that side of the family. Unfortunately I don't think I will see S's family at all this Christmas, which sucks. Part of what happens when you have 3 families.....
And then New Year's is shaping up to be the usual - house party with old friends, the only chance we get once a year to catch up. I think most of us are working now / have just graduated. Next it will be marriage and kids? Some of us have already done that - I have so much to do before then! It is a nice time to re-bond and a really nice way to end the year. It is probably one of my most looked-forward to parties - with the exception of Kev's, those are definitely my favourite ever.
