Where is Heather?
I think I had the perfect weekend. The perfect summer weekend.
1. It was a long weekend so I had one extra day to sleep and not worry about work
2. I had an extra morning and night sleeping with S
3. We were completely free to do whatever we wanted - Saturday we went for a trip to Queen St. just because we could, Saturday night we took a trip to the lake and saw a beautiful moon shining over the calmest lake I've ever seen.
4.Sunday we attempted to swim in Port Perry but it was too cold and we ended up just putting our feet in the lake, which was enough to satisfy me. I can't describe how good that feels to me, just to be near the lake, or the ocean, or the river, to touch it and feel the sand on the bottom and the cold over my skin. I always seem to feel wiser, happier, at peace....
5. Sunday night we spent it with good people and good friends, at the lake again, and it is probably the best Canada Day that I can recall in recent memory.
SO. I am stoked for Cuba. 3 more days of work and I'm off to what I hear is one of the most beautiful places on earth.
I'm also excited because this week S and I are putting our names on the waiting list for an awesome place to live together. It is in a beautiful neighbourhood in the East end of Toronto, tree lined streets and beautiful homes everywhere - location is perfect, close enough to both our works, and I am so completely excited that we're even putting our names on this waiting list, regardless of whether anything actually comes up in our timeframe.
I am content. Somebody must be looking down on me.
