This was my car at 5pm last night:
This was my car 15 minutes later:
I don't really know what else to say. I'm ok, I seem to have pulled a muscle in my neck which should make tomorrow's performance interesting, but other than that I walked away. We all walked away - 5 cars in total and only one person taken to the hospital.
But my car, my beautiful car.......not so ok.
I'm not really sure what happened. What I saw was a red Honda lose control and swerve into the van in front of me, which went airborne. I braked but hit the back of the van, braced for a hit from behind that hit the driver's side, and then braced again for another impact that never came. We were all very lucky. I know that myself and the guy that hit me were doing over 110km when I slammed on my brake, and thank god I had new brakes put in a few weeks ago.
I recalled later that right before I hit the van I wasn't thinking that I need to avoid this accident so as not to die, I was thinking I need to avoid it so as not to scratch my car.........Is that fucked up to anyone else?
Anyway, I was able to get a rental car within less than two hours of the accident, but it was the most ghetto car ever. When I unlocked the door the alarm went off, and it wouldn't stop until I turned the car on. After my doctor's appointment this morning I traded cars with the rental company for one that is not ghetto - now I'm driving a Nissan Versa.
And hopefully in a few weeks I will be back in my own car if it is salvageable.....

Awww, I'm really sorry! But the important thing is that you're okay physically and with no major injuries. Cars are replacable; bodies are not.
