You know that moment when you let someone out of your sight and immediately think... damn, I should've told them that. Sometimes it's a simple I love you, sometimes it's something more important or complicated.
You know that moment when you decide it'll all be fine and you continue on, thinking they'll be okay on their own, even just for a bit?
You know that moment when they prove to you that you were wrong and you don't know how to process the guilt you feel about the fact that you left them to their own devices in a time of weakness without even addressing the possibility that they could/would harm themselves?
How do you make sense of it all? How do you convince yourself that it isn't your fault, that it would've happened even if you made them promise not to. That if you had pressured them into saying so, then they would just hide it from you. How can you help if they don't tell you something's wrong, after all?
Needless to say, I'm having a hard time here.
Light a candle for the ones you love tonight, and keep in mind the one I love as she goes through a difficult time.

Love you, Liza . She agreed to go to therapy, even though I know she's going more for me than for her. It's a start at least.

All you can ever do is let the other person know your feelings and that you're there for them. Other than that, it's out of your control, sadly. Hope everything works out for them and they get the help they need. <3
