A question for all my nerdy friends out there... So both of our systems got virus's and I have already swiped and reloaded mine... but I am unsure what I want for my email.. I used to use Thunderbird, but no matter how good I followed their directions I couldn't get their backup to work for my email and one of the nastiest things about the virus's were that both computers lost ALL of our emails and ALL of our addressees..
So I am shopping for a good email browser... I have outlook but frankly I hate it, and I hate the interface online for the emails I do have.. I did like the fact I could categorize and save my old emails in Thunderbird, but it didn't have a calendar or tasks or to do lists like on outlook...
I was thinking about Gmail, but aren't you things backed up on their server? what is my risk of other reading my mail and getting my personal info?
What I am looking for is email that is
-easy to back up and restore
-has the ability to see the image attachments in the email and doesn't need to open it elsewhere (yahoo and outlook)
I would love to have it have
-a calendar
-a to do or tasks to keep track of things
I am not opposed to webmail but I am unsure of the security
any suggestions. what do you use and what do you like and dislike about it?
