What a weekend
SAturday night after work MornignStar, Melladoree and I went to
"Downtown New Orleans' favorite game-show cabaret returns for a night of weird music, movies, and prizes. Their retro-flavor tunes and showmanship recall a simpler time(when folks were totally nuts, it seems)." -Spin Magazine 2006
It really reminded me of what I loved about New Orlaens. Many of you here have seen me write again and again how much I disliked so many things about NOLA, but there were good times and this brought them all back. There were so many NOLA people there too. Many who have relocated to LA bacause of that bitch Katrina. I also remembered what it was like to live in a city with a soul. I don't know if it's because for so many LA is where you work to a goal and don't truly live there. Or if it's because the city is still so young, but it has no soul. It seems a place where people dwell untill they make it and then run to some place to really live. I know that once my goals are met here I really want to move some where with more of a spirit a place to settle down get a house and really enjoy life. Where I can work to Live not live to Work.
Sunday MorningStar and I cleaned house for a while and then went to the Lotus Festival in Echo Park. The lotuses were just beginning to bloom I think we may go back over the next few weeks and see them as they open up. The festival was neat, but reall sunny and hot. By the time we got home I was so overheated I was sick. I know it's that thick ass midwestern blood. I will never get used to heat, always makes me sick. Oh well it's only a couple of months and then it's lovely the rest of the year here.
Well off to work on some art and my honey is making Ribs for dinner, yum

Eventually I think I'd like to be bicoastal. I think that would work out swimmingly for me
