So today at work i had a hand in the firing of someone who i liked very much but was put in a position where my job may have been on the line as well. It was a safety issue where he could have been seriously hurt or perhaps killed, and i spoke up. Added to the story is that this guys mom passed away last week and he just got back. Why the fuck did this incident have too happen now??..It was just too big of a situation where we both were involved but he fucked up. His head was not at work. I thought they would take that into consideration , but nope. I will be thinking of Lee the rest of the year and can only hope he is ok. It just sucks .This will ride me for a while even though i know i did the right thing. Im going to try and get some sleep now.

Thats a shitty situation, but I think you did the right thing. Especially if it is a safety issue where he or some one else could have been hurt. I'm sure his mother's passing had some part of it, but in the risk of sounding completely inconsiderate, he needs to check that at the door. Especially when the safety of yourself or others is in jeopardy.
