Last night was an absolute blast. I completely cured myself of my melancholy leanings. Well, I didn't do it all on my own. It was more due to some wonderful company and a great amount of liquor on an nearly empty stomach.
I was feeling quite well about myself before even leaving work, mainly due to the copious amount of compliments I was receiving on my dress for the day. I have no problem admitting that they were correct. It might be a bit egotistical of me, but I looked sharp. Really sharp indeed.
Walking into the bar I instantly noticed Matias again (my Big brother coordinator), this time he was not with Kassie, the really cute co-worker of his. I am taking that to be a decent sign as last time I saw her she was in his presence, but left on her own. Which leaves me to hope that she might be single. Now I just need an opportunity to verify and act upon that information.
And that is not the only positive note in that direction, though it is in regards to that specific direction. I meant more in the attractive female direction in general. Hookah-man Cory was having the best night of business I have ever seen at the Satellite. He was hopping from the moment I entered and was not able to sit down and relax until I was well into my second drink. Once he did though, I discovered that he has just started seeing Kristen, a very sweet young woman who I have known for years but never really talked to. That oversight was corrected in splendid form and we had a brilliant evening, the three of us.
Before I get too far into the great news from that though, I do want to pay special note unto Camille, who once again proved how much of a delight she is to know. She played great music and likes the stuff that I have brought her over the months so much that she plays one specific song almost immediately after I arrive everytime. She also had the coolest shoes on and complimented me via Myspace earlier today with the line "...not to mention the fashion points go through the roof when he walks in the lounge...". Now that, I must say, is very uplifting and makes me smile like the giddy school-child I so frequently emulate.
Back to my discussion with Kristen though, I do not recall the direction of conversation and how it brought me to mention the night of the Dancing Diva, but I shed light onto that experience and my instant infatuation upon first seeing her and the stricken manner I adopted when I first saw her dance. At that point Kristen told me that she is one of her better friends. So I continued to expound upon my attempt to contact her and the fizzling of that. At which point I was directed to send her a second message as soon as I arrived at home. In retrospect it might have been a bit better to do so after I had sobered up, but I have commented on many an occasion about my inability to deny the request of any attractive female.
I went out to grab a bit with Cory and Kristen once the bartender decided that she was beat and it was time to kick out the last lingering dregs of the quite happening night.
I arrive back at home sometime between 3 and 4 and went to bed at five am only to rise at nine in order to make the birthday cake for tonight. Bacchus must have cast his favor towards me as I had not even the slightest hint of a hangover and still feel well rested. I did send off a second message to Jaime, as the Dancing Diva is actually named, so I am wishing for assistance from the Norns weft.
