Well, I made it to London last weekend and had a great time in the company of the lovely Rainwolfkin. It's a shame it all had to end so soon - I think someone should invent a three day weekend specifically for the purposes of allowing an extra day or two 'travelling days' so people like me can visit people like you.
I do feel a little guilty about my visit - part of the agenda was to pop down to the pub with Rain to meet some of the SGUK crowd. Unfortunately, I have been trying to fend off a cold recently and made the very foolish mistake of mixing Boots decongestant tablets with sake/saki/however it is spelt. So yeh, I felt a little bit woozey after the sushi dinner and suggested we schelp home rather than batting on to the pub. I know Rain was looking forward to the SGUK thing and it was a very selfless act on her part to give it up on my account. She's lurvly, more than she realises...
I did, however, get to meet slavewire briefly. He's getting married! From my very brief chat with him I he appears to be a very decent chap so I wish him all the best and lots of happiness. Yay!
Today, I have mainly been absolutely shattered and lacking in any energy whatsoever, so much so that I have decided to make a serious plan for the future. It's all very well talking about it (like I was yesterday) but I think it's about time I set something down in writing and stuck to it.
At the moment, I have written down 2 goals:-
1) to make 9,000 within the next month or so
2) to acquire sufficient cash to enable me to retire by the time I am 40
I haven't yet worked out how I am going to achieve either of these but at least it's a start. I will elaborate on point 2) in the future because it involves looooooads of variables and is too much for my tired brain to address right now.
I am tired. I hate being ill because it affects other people who don't deserve to be affected by it. I hate being this selfish.

and how could you possibly expect to make enough money to retire by the age of 40 when you have a pricey lady friend whose diamond addiction needs supporting?
