This morning started of quite scarily, thank you very much.
Y'see, last night I was on the phone talking about, amongst other things, ghosts and horror films. I laughed about them, hung up and went to sleep.
This morning I woke up at 6 o'clock and toddled in to the shower. Mmmmmm, toasty warm water beating down to wake you and warm you at the same time. Then.....
....plink.......
the lights went out. I almost screamed like a girl. I was stood in the shower in complete and utter darkness. No light at all. No little stream of light peering under the door frame, no hint of moonlight coming in through a window (bizarrely, my bathroom has no windows). Utter pitch black. It's scarey not being able to see anything.
And then a draught occured and something brushed against my leg.
OMG, I screamed inwardly, ghosts and murderers have come to kil me and take me to hell. I froze, even in the hot shower.......
Having eventually plucked up the courage to get out of the shower and scramble to the kitchen I managed to deduce two things:
1) I had blown a lightbulb in the kitchen, which tripped the switch in my fuse box causing all the lights to go out
2) the ghost which rubbed against my leg was in fact the shower curtain.
I am safe.
For now.....
