I'm currently enrolled in a career planning course, because I'm a directionless dimwit. I've got my associates degree in "Worthless", and now I'm going to transfer to a four year college. My general choice is a technological school because I figure they'll teach anything I eventually decide to do. Trouble is making a decision about what I want to spend the rest of my life studying and being employed in.
Now as part of the career planning course we took a number of interest/aptitude tests, including the Strong and Myers-Briggs interest inventory tests. The Strong test gives you a top ten list of career choices based on your answers and Musician was number one on my list... trouble is I've never picked up a music instrument in my life. And when I say, "picked up" I mean, "picked up and been able to make a noise that wasn't gut-churning." I'm not musically inclined and I'm not a writer. I can't even read music for fuck's sake, I know nothing of music theory. I believe most of the other jobs were all graphic design, photography, and IT related. I really don't know how I'm going to decide this in the next month or so, considering I haven't been able to decide in the past 22 years.
If anyone happens to be a professional in any of the aforementioned careers I would love to hear about it. Very soon I'm going to need to interview someone, particularly from whatever profession I choose. I figure I'll be posting requests in various groups if I don't find someone to interview soon. It will most likely be fairly short, and I hope can be done over e-mail or IM to make it easy.
I lose at life.
Unrelated supplement: I have no desire to see 300 now, or ever. And I'm afraid I'll have to shoot myself if I don't stop hearing about it.
