forgive me sg, for i have sinned. it has been 11 days since my last journal update...
so i just popped public enemy's fear of a black planet in the car stereo on the way home. hadn't listened to that cd since the late '90s at least. it's still good shit. check it out if you haven't heard it. i also recommend their apocalypse '91 album.
music that means something. not that there is anything wrong with vacuous noise. i get down with that too.
my friends and i have our own little board so we can keep up with each other. one of the guys posted about how much he hated his job. i'm slightly older than most of my friends so i can empathize with them and their first jobs out of college. i feel lucky that i'm past that stage and have made the conscious decision to chance paths fairly early in the game to something i think i'll be able to enjoy for a long while. i don't mind getting up in the morning (although i'm not a morning person in the least) and i almost enjoy the time i spend working during the day.
a colleague of mine mentioned how a friend of hers wanted to switch jobs in order to get a better salary (also a more stressful job). she likes her present position and is happy with her work. if any of you are in this position i would recommend against chasing the dollar if you potential new job is going to affect your happiness and well-being. a few extra dollars or even a few extra thousand will not be worth the extra stress and strain.
if your job is making your life miserable, get the hell out now! i know it ain't easy, i've done it twice. all you need is a plan, the fortitude to see it through and a decent support group.
keep your eyes on the prize.

I got a kind of mechanical/biomechanical one on upper right shoulder. I have a kind of bad pic of it on my journal.
