I'm glad it's thrusday, I think I'm really gonna have a fun weekend. The end of the work day tomorrow can't come soon enough.
I spent yesterday evening watchin the band play with a new drummer. It was only the 3rd time they jammed and it's really coming together. I am however, really gonna miss the old drummer, I feel like he's a little brother. Plus, he has a very great future in music if he can get some legal stuff taken care of. But that put's the band in the situation with a guy who has been a friend of mine for the past 5 or so years. It's a perfect match, he's an amazing drummer, and he's all about playin drums. Though it IS going to take some gettin used to since the songs have a different feel now. The old drummer has a style unique only to him, good and bad.
While the band is gettin it's self together, that leaves Mr Green with some free time. And with that free time I'm going to dive head firt into a large musical project. I'm going to do my own remix of Jay-Z's latest(and last) CD, "The Black ALbum". I was influenced to do this by DJ DangerMouse who has done an AMAZING remix called "The Grey Album". Using only the vocal tracks form the Black album, he built a musical pallette based soley upon sounds/samples from The Beatles "White Album". I found it truley inspiring. I tracked down the vocal tracks myself and will now be creating.... The Green Album - Song's for the Hova. My musical Pallette of choice? The Queens of the Stone age, Songs for the Deaf. What an amazing album, what an amazing band, and hopefully it will make for an amazing remix. If any one is interested in hearing my final product (probably a month or 2 away) just let me know. I'll make sure you get a copy when I'm done.
Damn I just got done babbling.
word.
